Chloe is a French Spaniel mix (probably Border Collie) whom I found on Petfinder.org.
She came from Michigan, and was pulled from a high-kill shelter from an English
Setter rescue group, who fostered her for three months. In those three
months, she was adopted out five times, and always returned because of separation
anxiety. She whined, paced, chewed and panted at each of her new homes, and
her condition got worse with each “return.” In the year
in which I adopted Chloe, I too had had five homes (living the vagabond existence
of a confused, freshly-divorced person). I didn’t even make this
connection at the time, but when we came together, we gave each other a home.
Chloe now works as a fashion model and a therapy dog, and spends her free
time eating, sleeping, digging holes and begging for food. She is engaged to
a handsome orange Belton English Setter named Rainbow Pickard, but sometimes
cheats on him with a dog named Sparky and/or her sleek lesbian lover Alexi. |
